A traffic exchange (TE) or hit exchange as they are also known is a real traffic alternative. These sites really work well if you know what you're doing. We have listed several that can help you get the best from the choices you make to build your TE list.
Basically, you receive exposure for your own web site, banner ads, and even text links by viewing the sites and ads of other people. Traffic Exchanges are member-based, so you must open an account with each exchange you intend to use.
Traffic exchanges operate on a credit system. Members earn credits by participating in a variety of ways, and then "spend" these credits on website visitors to their own pages, banner ad impressions, text links, and in some cases, even email advertisements.
There are two kinds of exchanges:
Manual - These are the exchanges that I prefer to use as you have to click to the next site after so many seconds. This means you have to see the page to click. Hover surf is the newest addition to surfing traffic exchanges. Place your mouse over the designated object without clicking and the site changes automatically. Members have the choice to click or hover.
AutoSurf - These as members can just switch on and leave it scrolling from site to site while say making a cup of coffee, No one need actually see your page and in my experience many don't.
You can also earn extra cash using traffic exchanges. Take advantage of the free
copy "Learn How to Use Traffic Exchanges the Right Way" listed below.
Share your favorites TE links with others. You will earn credits with sign ups and you will have referrals.
Free or Paid Services
FREE - A Free exchange costs nothing to join or use and is a great free advertising resource. Most exchanges have upgrades. When you can afford to upgrade, the benefits and services are much better than free.
PAID - A paid exchange requires a joining fee but this can be good as you know that every person using the exchange has actually put their hand in their pocket and spent some money online. These in my view produce better results than the free exchanges.
As of 2011, many new exchanges are available. Competition is fierce. A lot of new features have been added: Chat and Surf, surfing contests, and surfing incentives.
