What is a Blog?
Blog is short for weblog. A weblog is a journal (or newsletter) that is frequently updated and intended for general public consumption. Blogs generally represent the personality of the author or the Web site.

What is a Link Exchange?
Link Exchange ("Reciprocal Link Ex-change") is the practice of exchanging links with other websites. Previously the simplest way of doing it was to email another website owner and ask to do a link exchange. You place their link on your site, usually on a links page and the other site in return will place a link back to you.
